Chemotherapy and Chemoport Management Workshop 2025 | Hotel Olympic Kuala Lumpur | 15 June 2025

We were honored to participate in the Chemotherapy Assessment and Chemoport Management Workshop 2025, held at Hotel Olympic, Kuala Lumpur on 15 June 2025 (Day 2), which was organized by YKL. This full-day workshop brought together dedicated oncology nurses, educators, and healthcare professionals from across Malaysia for a dynamic and hands-on learning experience.
Introduction to Vascular Access Devices in Oncology Care
Our company was invited to contribute to the educational program with a talk on “Introduction to Central Vascular Access Devices (CVAD)”, delivered by Ms. Queennie Wei, our Sales and Product Manager specializing in central vascular access solutions. This session focused on the latest advancements and clinical applications of devices such as Healthport (implantable chemoports), PICC lines, and Huber needles, all essential tools in modern chemotherapy and oncology patient care.
During the morning session, the following key topics were covered:

- Step-by-step written guides for safe and accurate chemoport access
- Blood sampling and flushing procedures to maintain port patency and patient safety
We had the privilege of collaborating with Sister Ho Swee Lee, a respected post-basic oncology nurse educator and senior nursing lecturer at Sunway University. Her live demonstrations and clear explanations of chemoport handling techniques left a lasting impact on the participants, many of whom were eager to improve their oncology nursing skills.
Building Competency in Oncology Nursing
With over 30 participants from public and private healthcare institutions throughout Malaysia, this workshop served as a platform to advance oncology nursing education and enhance clinical competency in vascular access device management. Most attendees were either currently practicing in oncology units or seeking to specialize further in this critical area of patient care.
We extend our sincere thanks to YKL and Sister Ho Swee Lee for organizing and leading this impactful workshop.
